Why Did This Customer Choose Our 5HP Condensing Unit?

Jun.25.2026

We recently received an inquiry from a cold room project – the requirements were very clear:

- Cold room temperature: -2°C (medium‑temperature)

- Capacity: 5 HP, power supply 230V / 3-phase / 60Hz, refrigerant R404A

- They needed only the condensing unit – the evaporator would be sourced separately

Initially, the customer was leaning towards buying from a well‑known American brand. However, after comparing our specifications and pricing, they quickly changed their minds – because our unit uses the same core components yet costs significantly less.

The key components they cared about – we have them all:

- Compressor: Emerson (Copeland) ZB38KQE‑TF5‑558 scroll compressor – the industry benchmark for medium‑temperature refrigeration, with Copeland’s flexible scroll technology for excellent liquid‑slugging tolerance and durability.

- Oil separator + liquid receiver + suction accumulator – ensuring reliable oil return to the compressor and stable liquid supply to the system.

- Two‑stage filtration: suction filter + Danfoss DML liquid line filter drier – effectively remove debris and moisture.

- Sight glass + Danfoss KP15 high/low pressure controller + high/low pressure gauges – for clear system status monitoring and safe operation.

All these components come from top global brands (Emerson, Danfoss, etc.) – the same grade as the US‑built units the customer originally considered. However, our complete unit price is only 2,020 USD (bulk orders can go down to 1,900 USD), while comparable American‑made models often cost 100% or more higher.

We offer a complete U‑shaped box‑type top‑discharge condensing unit with export packaging (wooden pallet + carton), available in white or grey, flexible installation, and easy maintenance.

The customer chose us not just because of the lower price, but because they get identical quality at a much better cost – a rational decision in today’s competitive cold‑storage market.
